FIXTURES FOR NATIONAL POOL: XIII INTERNAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2018

Dear students, Please click on the following link to find the fixture for National Pool on September 1 and September 2: Fixture for National Pool Note:   All the teams are requested to check the memorials they have received from the fixture above. In case of any discrepancy, the teams are required to send a mail about the same at the MCA mail id (mca.upes@gmail.in) and have to collect the correct memorials from Room no 2502 from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm tomorrow (31-08-2018). No memorial shall be given after the specified time

RULES REGARDING ORAL ROUNDS(NATIONAL POOL): XIII INTERNAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2018

Dear Students, Reporting time for teams on: 1st September, 2018 is 8:30 am and 10:30 am (as per the time of the preliminary round) 2nd September, 2018 is 10:30 am. Venue: Room no. 2111 Kindly note the following points regarding the oral round: 1. Teams must not exceed their arguments beyond 15 minutes (total speaking time of each team) or else there shall be negative marking after 15 minutes. 2. No Rebuttal or Sur- Rebuttal rounds are allowed during the Preliminary Round. In the 15 minutes of speaking time of each team, no rebuttal or sur-rebuttal rounds shall be allowed. 3. There shall be no quarter-final round. After the Preliminary Rounds are conducted, top 4 teams (based on the cumulative scores of both the rounds in Preliminary Round) shall qualify for the Semi-Final Round.  4. Teams must strictly adhere to dress code as provided for in the Rulebook.

RESEARCHER'S TEST & MEMORIAL EXCHANGE: XIII INTERNAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2018

Dear Students, Following are the details for researcher's test: VENUE: Room No. 2501 & 2502 TIME: 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Memorial exchange will take place immediately after the researcher's test at the same venue. Each researcher will collect the memorials on the behalf of their team. NOTE:  It is requested that only researchers be present for the memorial exchange. Speakers of the team need not come.

Dear Students, This is kindly inform you that 97 memorials that were received for the XIII Internal Moot Court Competition, 2018 has went through the Memorial Selection Round and as informed earlier we have selected only the top 70 memorials. The memorials are scored on the following parameters:- a. Plagiarism: Checked by Turitin software b. Late Submission mark deduction c. Application of Law d. Quality and Content of the Memorial The Selected 70 team codes, in no particular order of merit, are as follows: The Scoresheet for the memorials will be put up on the notice boards after the completion of the oral rounds on 03.09.2018. Kindly do not approach any faculty or student member of the committee for the scores before that.

MEMORIAL SUBMISSION (HARD COPY): XIII INTERNAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2018

Dear Students, The teams who were disqualified yesterday from XIII INTERNAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2018 due to late submission of soft copy and are now allowed to participate, have to submit the hard copy of the memorials in  3rd floor Moot Court Hall  between  2:45 pm to 4:00 pm .

Dear Students, Moot Court Association understands the hard work that goes in preparation of memorial and Organising Committee persistently tries in promoting the spirit of mooting and giving everyone a chance to represent our college at National and International Moot Court Competitions. This notification is to inform everyone that as per the directions from theProf. (Dr.) Tabrez Ahmad, Dean, UPES School of Law and Chairman, MCA, it is decided that Memorial Selection Round will be held in order to acknowledge the efforts and at the same time to give fair chance to all participants to qualify for oral rounds. However, to appreciate the discipline and punctuality of the participants who submitted on time, it is decided that there will be a deduction of 2 (TWO) marks for every 30 minutes delay. DISQUALIFICATION DUE TO LATE SUBMISSION OF MEMORIALS: XIII INTERNAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2018

Dear Students, This is to kindly inform you that as per the rules all the memorials received after 12:02 am are disqualified from the competition . No hard copy of the memorials shall be accepted from teams who have sent the soft copy of the memorial after the above mentioned time. Also, the teams who have sent the soft copy in Ms-Word format by the above mentioned time and have only sent the pdf file afterwards, their memorials shall be accepted. NOTE:  The 2 minutes leverage has been given keeping in mind the technical delay in delivery of the mail.

Dear Students, After receiving a lot of complains regarding poor internet connection in the Campus, the last date of submission of memorial has been extended. The new dates are as follows: Submission of soft copy: August 21, 2018(Tuesday) Submission of hard copy: August 22, 2018(Wednesday) NOTE: No request for further extension will be entertained over the call/ mail.

CALL FOR APPLICATION FOR CHALLENGERS: National Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition @ GLC, Mumbai

Dear Students,                             We are looking forward to conducting the challengers in order to select the team which could represent School of Law, UPES at National Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition @ GLC, Mumbai  Challengers shall be conducted on  August 25, 2018  and the venue shall be informed through e-mail to the participants before the date of challengers. Tthe problem shall be provided to the participants soon. Every committee is made successful by its human resource, and we invite applications from students from the  1st to 4th year , from  all batches of LAW , for various internal portfolios in the Moot Court Association, for the academic year 2018-2019. Portfolios and qualifications for such posts are as under:                         Position General  qualifications Student Head (Any Committee)      Minimum CGPA 6      Should be from 4 th  year      Member of any committee for at least 1 year      Participation in at least 2 National/International Moot Court Competition / Client Counseling / Trial Advocacy / Mediation Competition      Must have a good academic record.      Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding Student Sub-Head (Any Committee)       Minimum CGPA. 6       Should be from 3 rd  year       Member of any committee for at least 1 year       Participation in at least 1 National/International Moot Court Competition /

UPDATED: CLARIFICATION FOR XIII INTERNAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2018

Dear Students, The national pool compromis has a small error in ISSUE 1. The amended issue stands as : "The Constitutionality of Sections 67 A, 69 A and 69 B of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended) and Application of the allied provisions of IPC (Section 340) & Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 ( Section 3 and 4)" Please visit the blog for further clarifications (if any) which will be released as per schedule given in the rulebook i.e. August 15, 2018.

IV UPES INTERNAL TRIAL ADVOCACY COMPETITION, 2018

Moot Court Association (MCA) is pleased to announce the initiation of the IV Internal Trial Advocacy Competition,2018 and we encourage all interested students to participate in this edition of Trial Advocacy Competition. It may be noted that it is  compulsory to participate  in the Internal Trial Advocacy Competition to be eligible to participate in any External Trial Advocacy Competitions and no further challengers will be conducted for allotment of any trial advocacy till the next Internal Trial Advocacy Competition, barring exceptional circumstances, to be decided at the discretion of MCA. The Competition is open for all the students of  Second year to Final Year of B.A. LL.B, B.B.A.LL.B, B.Com. LL.B and B.Tech. LL.B. (IPR & Cyber). Note: Registration can be done only through submitting Google registration form. The oral rounds for this edition have been scheduled from  20th   October, 2018 to 21st   October, 2018 .
