INVITING APPLICATIONS :THE STUDENT CORE COMMITTEE 2023-24

 Dear Students,

Greetings from Moot Court Association!

In furtherance of creating the student body for the upcoming year, 2023-24, we solicit applications for student core portfolios.

The Core Committee will be divided between the Internal and External committee respectively.

Division of Roles –


1.Internal Committee –

•  Mentorship and Coaching of teams participating in National/International Competitions.

• Arranging and Organizing of Training Programs/Sessions for college students every month.

• Allotment of Moot Courts, Trial Advocacy and Client Counselling Competitions.

• Managing the UPES Mooting Blawg.

 

2. External Committee –

• Organization of National Competitions.

• Organization of Internal Competitions.

• All other arrangements as required by the university.

 

Qualifications for the Portfolios:


FOURTH YEAR CORE (For the Entire MCA)


1)Student Convener

·       Shall be currently from the 3rd year.

·       Shall be a member of a committee in the last 2 years.

·       Must have participated in at least 2 National/International Moot Court / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.


2) Student Treasurer

·       Shall be currently from the 3rd year.

·       Shall be a member of a committee for at least 2 years.

·       Must have participated in at least 2 National/International Moot Court  / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.


3)Student Secretary (Internal)

·       Shall be currently from the 3rd year.

·       Shall be a member of a committee in the last 2 years.

·       Must have participated in at least 2 National/International Moot Court  / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.


4)Student Secretary(External)

·       Shall be currently from the 3rd year.

·       Shall be a member of a committee in the last 2 years.

·       Must have participated in at least 2 National/International Moot Court / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

 

THIRD YEAR CORE

 

1)Student Co-Convener (Internal)

·       Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

·       Shall be a member of a committee in the last 1 year.

·       Must have participated in at least 1 National/International Moot Court  / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

·       Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

·       Shall be a member of a committee in the last 1 year.

·       Must have participated in at least 1 National/International Moot Court  / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.


3) Student Joint Secretary (Internal)

·       Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

·       Shall be a member of a committee in the last 1 year.

·       Must have participated in at least 1 National/International Moot Court / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.


3) Student Joint Secretary (External)

·       Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

·       Shall be a member of a committee in the last 1 year.

·       Must have participated in at least 1 National/International Moot Court  / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.


4) Student Jt. Treasurer

·       Shall be currently from the 2nd year

·       Shall be a member of a committee for at least 1 year.

·       Must have participated in at least 1 Internal/Internal/National/International Moot Court / Trial Advocacy Competitions.

·       Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

·       Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

All interested students are requested to email their updated CV at mootcourt@ddn.upes.ac.in  marking a copy to abhijit.b@ddn.upes.ac.in and uditraj.sharma@ddn.upes.ac.in , the subject of the email being “Application for core portfolio at MCA, 2023-24”.


Kindly mention the following in the body of the email:

1.     Name of the applicant;

2.     The portfolio you are interested in; (3 preferences)

3.     Whether you have served in any capacity in the MCA before;

4.     Why do you feel you should be considered for the portfolio applied for.

Kindly respond to each of the aforesaid requirements in separate paragraphs.

SPEAKERS & RESEARCHERS RANKS | XVIII INTERNAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2023.

Dear Participants, Greetings from the Moot Court Association!! The wait is finally over, we are delighted to announce the ranks of  XVIII Internal Moot Court Competition, 2023 . External Moot Court Competitions shall be allotted only through Internal Ranks/ Challenger Round abiding with the rules mentioned in Allotment and Mentorship Rules 2024. No allotments shall be made based on Average CGPA.  These ranks will be effective from XVIII Internal Moot Court Competition, 2023 till XIX Internal Moot Court Competitions, 2024.  NOTE: 1.      The detailed committee preference leaflet will be released soon. 2.      The Moot Court Association is releasing the ranks of Top 100 Speakers and Top 50 Researchers; hence the remaining applicants are requested to fill the form only with their names.
