Call for Challenger submissions for the  Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court Competition:

Dear All,
We are looking forward to conducting the challengers in order to select the team which could represent CoLS, UPES at the FRANKFURT INVESTMENT ARBITRATION MOOT COURT COMPETITION.

For the purpose of the challengers for the FRANKFURT INVESTMENT ARBITRATION MOOT COURT COMPETITION;

You are required to frame both sides of the arguments, restricting yourself to 750-1000 words, for each individual argument, for the following three issues -

[1.] Whether the Tribunal has the competence to decide this dispute: it concerns the legal position of the Republic of Rome, a most sovereign State ?
[2.] Whether the case has been brought against the wrong Respondent and must hence fail under the Oil
Platforms test? 
[3.] Whether Article 12 (2) of the Treaty of Friendship is an “umbrella clause” which could “umbrella in” the content of the Revenue Lease Agreement?

This moot is open for all participants not having a moot to their name for the year 2017-18.



GUIDELINES:

a.) Please apply as a 3-member or 4-member team onlyThe members of a team have to make individual submissions but the email regarding the submission should be made from a single email id. Kindly send in your submission, at mca.upes@gmail.com, with the body of the email as:- Submission for the challengers for the 'name of the moot court competition'
It is important that you most positively mention the name of the competition.
This will help cause less trouble during compilation for the purposes of evaluation.

b.) Word limit for each submission should be adhered to. Each member will compile their individual arguments in a single .pdf file. If you are 3 members, there will be 3 .pdf files only. 

c.) File should be submitted in .pdf format and the name of the file must be in the following format: 'Name of the participant'_speaker/researcher. 
Non-adherence to the prescribed format will lead to automatic rejection of the team from the challengers. 

d.) Deadline for the Submission is 29th August 2017, 11:15 P.M. (IST). No submission will be entertained after the deadline.

e.) Any submission made without following the guidelines as mentioned above will not be considered. We are very serious, there will be no relaxation on our part in case of any digression on your part.


All participants are requested to use a solitary email-id for application, challenger submissions and subsequent communications. Multiple email-ids increase the probability of unintended errors. The MCA will not take any unnecessary responsibility.
