NOTICE INVITING APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP IN MOOT COURT ASSOCIATION AND VARIOUS INTERNAL PORTFOLIOS 2017-2018

Every committee is made successful by its human resource, and we invite applications from students from the 1st to 4th year, from all batches of LAW, for various internal portfolios in the Moot Court Association, for the academic year 2017-2018.

Portfolios and qualifications for such posts are as under:

·   Must have a good academic record.
·   Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding
2.       
Student Sub-Head
(Any Department)
·   Minimum CGPA. 6
·   Should be from 3rd year
·   Member of any committee for at least 1 year
·   Participation in at least 1 National/International Moot Court Competition / Client Counseling / Trial Advocacy / Mediation Competition
·   Must have a good academic record.
·   Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding
3.       
Student Member
·   Minimum CGPA. 6
·   Should be from 2nd year
·   Member of any committee for at least 1 year
·   Participation in at least 1 National/International Moot Court Competition / Client Counseling / Trial Advocacy / Mediation Competition
·   Must have a good academic record.
·   Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding
4.       
MCA Batch Representative
·   Minimum CGPA. 6
·   1st year and 2nd year students
·   Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding

We solicit your application for all the positions so mentioned under the first 3 categories to any of the following departments which functions under the aegis of the MCA:
v Court Bailiffs- Court Bailiffs function as Officers of the Court in various competitions organized by the MCA.
v  Design- From designing certificates to painting their imagination on banners and posters, the most creative and artistic minds assist in all designing work.   
v Documentation- All the paperwork and correspondence is handled by this committee.
v  Food- Food is fuel, and this department ensures the availability of the same.
v Hospitality- This department ensures that we are at our hospitable best and are impeccable hosts to all our guests.
v Infrastructure- From books to bouquets, the infra committee ensures that all arrangements are pitch perfect.
v  Media- The media team covers all the events and are the people behind the camera, capturing the many moods and moments of the competitions.
v Research Committee- A solid research committee is the think tank behind the various competition compromis’, and other research work.
v  Scoring- The people behind the numbers and the tabulation, the Scoring committee tabulates the scores, and ensures the successful completion of any event.

Every department however, shall have a Student Head, and a Student Sub-head, who would, along with the members, look into the affairs of their department, and any other department if deemed necessary.

The portfolios of the Student Head, and the Student Sub-head require individuals with a certain amount of experience, who would be able to discharge their additional duties.
In the category of MCA Class Representative, 2 students will be selected from each and every batch of 1st and 2nd year.

The selection procedure for membership to the committee would be based on preliminary interviews. The performances of former members would be considered, but would only have a persuasive value. We aim to select a committed batch of people who would be ready to devote their time and attention specifically to the MCA.

The membership to any portfolio shall be performance-based. Anyone not performing after due reminders may be removed from that portfolio in the larger interest of MCA and someone more competent may be put instead.

Interested students are required to mail their CV along with a cover letter stating their department to kchauhan@ddn.upes.ac.in and a.kumar@ddn.upes.ac.in marking a CC to mootcourt@ddn.upes.ac.in .

Applicants for the portfolios of Student Head, and Student Sub-Head are further requested to mention their previous work experience, in the same or similar field.

The last date for submission of the CV is 21st August. All other details shall be provided subsequently by email.
