NOTICE: INVITING APPLICATIONS FOR CORE COMMITEE OF MOOT COURT ASSOCIATION FOR A.Y. 2022-23

 

Dear Students,

Greetings from Moot Court Association!

In furtherance of creating the student body for the upcoming year, 2022-23, we solicit applications from the students for the core portfolios. There will be internal and external committees in which each role will be divided among the committees.

Division of Roles –

1.     Internal Committee –

·  Arranging Mentorship and Coaching of teams participating in National/International Competitions.

·         Arranging and Organizing of Training Programs/Sessions for college students every month.

·         Allotment of Moot Courts and Trials.

·         Working and Circulation of School of Law Moot Blog.

·         Drafting of Proposition for Internal & National Competitions and things related to the same.

2.     External Committee –

·         Organisation of National Competitions.

·         Organisation of Internal Competitions.

·         All other arrangements as required by the college.

Qualifications for the Portfolios

1)             Student Convener (For the entire MCA)

Ø  Shall be currently from the 3rd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee in the last 2 years.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 2 National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

2) Student Treasurer (For the entire MCA)

Ø  Shall be currently from the 3rd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee for at least 2 years.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 2 National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

3) Student Jt. Treasurer (For the entire MCA)

Ø  Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee for at least 1 year.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 1 Internal/Internal/National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

 

Internal Committee

1)             Student Secretary

Ø  Shall be currently from the 3rd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee in the last 2 years.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 3 National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

3)             Student Co-Convener

Ø  Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee in the last 1 year.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 1 National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

4)             Student Jt. Secretary

Ø  Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee in the last 1 year.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 1 National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

External Committee

1)             Student Secretary * (Two positions)

Ø  Shall be currently from the 3rd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee for at least 2 years.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 2 National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

3)             Student Co-Convener

Ø  Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee for at least 1 year.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 1 Internal/National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

4)             Student Jt. Secretary

Ø  Shall be currently from the 2nd year.

Ø  Shall be a member of any committee for at least 1 year.

Ø  Must have participated in at least 1 Internal/National/International Moot Court Competition / Trial Advocacy.

Ø  Must have a CGPA not less than 7.

Ø  Must have a good academic record.

Ø  Must not have been subjected to any disciplinary proceeding.

All interested students are requested to email their updated CV at mootcourt@ddn.upes.ac.in  marking a copy to v.singh@ddn.upes.ac.in, the subject of the email being “Application for core portfolio at MCA, 2022-23”. 

Kindly mention the following in the body of the email:

1.     Name of the applicant;

2.     The portfolio you are interested in; (3 preferences)

3.     Whether you have served in any capacity in the MCA before;

4.     Why do you feel you should be considered for the portfolio applied for.

Kindly respond to each of the aforesaid requirements in separate paragraphs.
